Portrait: What makes the Caol Ila 2013 100 Proof Edition #11 Signatory Vintage special

The 100 Proof Edition has been closing a gap in the Signatory since the beginning of 2024. Range. 57.1%vol. or 100 proofis the minimum level at which gunpowder soaked in alcohol can be ignited. Since the beginning of 2024, Signatory Vintage has been dedicating its own series to the historical unit of measurement, in which high-proof quality whisky meets low prices.

Islay - with a Caribbean beachcombines the Caol Ila 2013 100 Proof Edition #11. Thanks to maturation in the rum barrel, it combines maritime smoke with fresh sweetness.  

Tasting Notes: This is what the Caol Ila 2013 100 Proof Edition #11 Signatory Vintage tastes like

  • Nose: ripe berries and dark stone fruit, plus slightly nutty aromas - above all salty peat smoke
  • Palate: becoming spicier in the taste, clear oak and gentle peat notes - followed by jam and olives
  • Finish: long in the finish with lots of malt, moist earth and peat< /li>
