In the Signatory 100 Proof Edition it is no longer just high percentages that meet low prices. With the Exceptional Casks there are now also affordable bottlings that have matured for a long time. Three price-performance bottlings from first-filled Oloroso Sherry Butts will be launched in May 2024.
The malty Highlander Macduff 2007 benefited in the form of Chocolate cake, berries and orange zest from 16 years in Andalusian oak Casks.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Macduff 2007 Exceptional Cask 100 Proof Edition #3 Signatory Vintage tastes like
- Nose: at the beginning freshly baked chocolate cake with roasted nuts, followed by dark berries as well as malty aromas and fudge
- Palate: red fruity notes of strawberries and sweet cherries - then becomes a little more exotic with peach, honeydew melon and fresh orange zest
- Finish: medium-long finish with tones of various fruits followed by light woody notes, some milk chocolate and a hint of espresso
