Study the influence of wood on whisky and gently control it through careful cask management? Billy Walker has perfected this art over 50 years. With the Wood Collection, the industry veteran is now delivering new landmarks for his whisky craft. After refining in different sherry casks, three limited experiences will kick off the series in spring 2023. Neither chill-filtered nor colored and with an increased 48%vol. Bottled, they speak for themselves. And at a good price level.

Further maturation in Oloroso Butts gives The GlenAllachie 9 year old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finishstrong layers of coffee beans, raisins, ginger and marzipan that harmonize with the distillery's honey-emphasized house style. The darkest dry sherry style is known for its distinct nutty and dried fruit aromas.

Tasting Notes: This is how the GlenAllachie 9 year old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish tastes like

  • Nose: strong aromas of roasted coffee beans, juicy raisins and marzipan - above all a warm spiciness of fresh ginger
  • Palate: mouth-filling with ripe berries and plums, then again the coffee beans and raisins - the spicy ginger is also present again, paired with a slight honey note
  • Finish: long and soft in the warm, fruity finish - the spiciness is clearly evident
