Portrait: What makes Glen Scotia 21 years old.

First matured for over 20 years in a combination of Refill Bourbon Barrels and Refill American Oak Hogsheads - the hand-selected Casks were then married together and matured for a further six months in 1st-fill Oloroso Sherry Casks.

Although Campbeltown is now Scotland's smallest whisky region, but in its Victorian heyday the region was known as the “whisky capital of the world” and home to more than 30 distilleries. Today only three remain.

The Glen Scotia Distillery produces an exceptional range of Scottish whiskies, all perfect examples of the classic, maritime Campbeltown style.
The SFWSC is one of the most prestigious spirits competitions in the world.
Its judges are renowned experts in their field with decades of industry experience. The competition began in 2000, making it the second oldest spirits competition in the world and the oldest and largest spirits competition in the United States.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Glen Scotia 21 Year old tastes

• Nose: clearly the Oloroso Sherry with floral aromas, plus rich, delicate fruity and spicy aromas - above all a light scent of salty sea spray.
• Palate: mouth-filling and soft - very complex with lots of fruity notes, plus a light one Caramel tone and soft spicy notes
• Finish: long in the soft finish - very harmonious with a perfect balance of fruit and spice - again the light salty tone from the sea
