The Hammerschmiede is located in the Elsbachtal, embedded in the mountain landscape of the southern Harz. Instead of iron ore, the Buchholz family processes another regional raw material here: barley. Since 2002, the spirits manufacturer has stood for Hercynian Single Malt - sophisticated whisky from the heart of Germany. The extraordinary variety of whiskies in Lower Saxony is based on high craftsmanship and joy of experimentation as well as a wide range of wine Casks.

Always in small quantities without Chill-filtration or colored bottled, the Hercynian Single Malts appear in four rows. Their heart: ElsBurn. The intensely fruity and spicy bottlings of the Distillery Edition underline the character of the brand. The ElsBurn 10 year old is Batch No. 001 of the Distillery Edition 2024 - and the first single malt in the series with an age statement. Typical of the popular series, it matured completely in first fill sherry casks from Jerez. The result was a lush, characterful taste experience with baking spices, raisins and tangerines along with fine vanilla and caramel notes.

Tasting Notes: This is how the ElsBurn 10 year old Batch No. 001 tastes like

• Nose: pronounced aromas of raisins and ripe mandarins, behind them clearly the sherry, paired with slightly spicy aromas of cardamom and cinnamon
• Palate: powerful and full-bodied - again the raisins and mandarins, now joined by tones of vanilla pods and soft caramel - in the background the baking spices again
• Finish: long finish - the sherry, the raisins and the caramel are present
