Portrait: What the Planteray CUT & DRY is

A unique Barbados rum - distilled from molasses in the pot and column still at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados.

For the Planteray CUT & DRY, ripe coconuts are first harvested, cracked open and placed outside to dry naturally. The dried coconuts are infused in a blend of Barbados unaged column still rum and Barbados unaged Gregg Pot Still rum.

This infusion is then blended with up to 3 years old Barbados rum.
Per liter of rum A coconut is required.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Planteray CUT & DRY

  • Nose: very intense aromas of coconut pulp and vanilla, followed by cinnamon and hints of sesame oil
  • Palate: exceptionally round and soft - the influence of coconuts is clear, along with rich notes of ripe bananas, some green ginger and gentle hints of molasses and herbs
  • Finish: less coconut on the finish, now clearly ripe vanilla and the bananas again, slightly spicy tones over everything
