Behind the name Whitlaw lies the larger of the two Orkney distilleries. Signatory chose for this bottling first-fill Pedro Ximénez- and second-filled exOloroso-Sherry Casks.
Distilled in June 2013, bottled in February 2024.

The orange tubes were synonymous with affordable ones for many years (Entry-level) whiskeys. Signatory is gradually discontinuing the series. One of the last bottlings comes from the stormy Orkney Islands: The Whitlaw 10 year old 2013/2023 matured for 10 years in sweet, fruity Pedro Ximénez and nutty Oloroso Sherry Casks .

Whether bottlings from closed distilleries, sought-after single malts from distilleries that no longer issue Casks to independent bottlers, or from those that even sell under their own name do not release any whiskies: Signatory Vintage has them all.
 
Well over 10,000 Casks are stored in the warehouses in the Highland town of Pitlochry. Selected by hand, they are bottled in our own facility. Sometimes in cask strength, sometimes brought to drinking strength, but always neither chill-filtered nor colored, they come onto the market in different series.

• Nose: spicy heather and soft toffee aromas, with ripe red berries and raisins
• Palate: soft and spicy with clear notes of heather and fresh herbs - above all dried fruit and strong sherry tones - behind it nutty hints
• Finish: medium-long in the fruity-spicy finish - the sherry is unmistakable and releases notes of dates, figs and nuts
