The 100 Proof Edition has been closing a gap in the Signatory range since the beginning of 2024. The single malts in the series are 57.1%vol. bottled, the minimum level at which gunpowder soaked in alcohol can be ignited. High percentages meet low prices.
The new price-performance hits of spring 2024 were all made with Oloroso Sherry >pre-filled barrels - the 10-year-old Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2013 100 Proof Edition #7 from thepeaty branch of the Islay icon.

Nose: clear smoke -Aromas like smoked meat over the campfire and a pleasant honey sweetness - in the background aromas of citrus fruits.
Palate: very powerful on the tongue, but round and not pungent - to the citrus notes Limes and oranges add further fruit notes that are reminiscent of pears and ripe apples, above all the spicy smoke and a hint of dark pepper
Finish: medium-long and intense, the peat smoke remains last
