Dark, cask-strong, drinkable: He's back to keep gourmets in the dark in the best possible way. The Edradour Eilean Dubh “The Dark One” is the new edition of a sold-out special bottling from the Edradour Distillery. Named after the Gaelic expression for “black island”, the single malt does what it promises.

It owes its mahogany color to maturation in former sherry casks . And exclusively: As is usual for “Scotland’s Little Gem”, the Eilean Dubh is neither colored nor chill-filtered. At a crisp 57.1%vol. Cask Strength envelops the Highland whiskey connoisseur's palate so uninhibitedly with deliciously dark fruity, full-bodied power.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Edradour Eilean Dubh "The Dark One" tastes like

  • Nose: clear sherry aromas and ripe stone fruit - especially plums and dates , then soft aromas of ripe, dark berries follow, followed by some toffee and chocolate
  • Palate: creamy and soft with intense notes of juicy raisins, plus prunes and dates again - which is sherry clearly visible - in the background there are notes of freshly baked fruit cake with a light, elegant oak spice
  • Finish: long and soft in the finish - sweet fruits, toffee and dark chocolate are present
