The heavily peated Port Charlotte SC: 01 2012 initially matured in former bourbon and sherry casks and received its finish in former Sauternes wine casks from the southwest of France.
The result is a wonderfully balanced single malt with lots of peat, earthy tones and fresh pome fruit.

• Nose: at the beginning a wonderful mix of rich peat smoke, moist earth and dark, ripe fruits - followed by floral aromas and a touch of freshly cut oak
• Palate: mouth-filling and intense in taste - above all rich peat smoke, followed by strong notes of dark honey, coconuts and ripe stone fruit - in the background there are hints of fresh tobacco leaves and green pepper
