It is a rarity in the Scottish distillery landscape: The Lochlea Distillery is independent, family-run - and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to grow its own barley. Under the leadership of industry great John Campbell, authentic single malts are created, characterized by the barley of their region and a taste profile that is exceptional for the Lowlands.
The small team is sending smoke signals for the second time for the Lochlea - Plowing Edition - Second Crop. Unlike in 2023, the limited single malt from the “Seasonal Releases” series matured exclusively in ex-Islay barrels, each of which only holds 200 liters. At ideal drinking strength, the Lowlander develops a profile that puts you in the mood for spring: with fresh fruits and typical grain notes as well as sea salt, hay and gentle peat.
