The “Icons of Campbeltown” series, launched in 2023, includes five bottlings.
“The Mermaid” is the first bottling in this series.
The focus here is the Market Cross of Campbeltown - a Celtic cross in the market square of the town of Campbeltown on the Kintyre Peninsula.
Saints from the Celtic period are depicted in the stone cross. Each bottling tells a story of this cross.

The Glen Scotia 12 year old Icons of Campbeltown The Mermaid Release No. 1 initially matured for over 12 years in former bourbon barrels, then the single malt received an eight-month finish in former Palo Cortado sherry casks.
Bottled at cask strength with an alcohol content of 54.1%vol. without the addition of colorings and without chill filtration.

• Nose: initially spicy aromas of fresh herbs and seaweed, followed by sea salt, boat varnish and canvas - then magnificent aromas of soft butterscotch, fresh Tarte Tatin and jam follow
• Palate: mouth-filling and rich in taste - clear notes of French apple pie, plus again the spicy notes and sea salt
• Finish: long, warming finish - the spicy tones come to the fore
