Portrait: What makes the Glenlivet 12 year old 200th Anniversary

Together with the renowned house Talented House, Glenlivet has motivated independent artists around the world to create unusual designs for this anniversary bottling. 

Four unique designs were shortlisted from over 400 designs and the fans of the distillery were allowed to decide which design would be chosen as the winner.

The anniversary design reflects the most important elements from the past 200 Years of the distillery.

The single malt is also exceptional, it matured for over 12 years in first-filled American oak barrels - the single malt was bottled at 43%vol, which is untypical for the distillery. Alcohol content

Tasting Notes: This is what the Glenlivet 12 year old 200th Anniversary tastes like

  • Nose: fresh mandarins and ripe pineapple, paired with hazelnuts and sweet vanilla , behind it creamy caramel and subtle floral aromas 
  • Palate: juicy, ripe pears with sweet orange jam and coconut shavings - then creamy vanilla and roasted almonds
  • Finish: silky and sweet with a lingering, sweet oak note
