Portrait: What defines the Jameson Single Pot Still
The master distiller Kevon O'Gorman is responsible for the new single pot still whiskey from Jameson.
Traditionally triple distilled from malted and unmalted barley in copper pot stills, the single matured Pot Still in five different types of Casks - in new, virgin Casks made of Irish, European and American oak as well as in former bourbon and sherry Casks.
The result is a Five Oak Release with a rich, unmistakable silkiness with the characteristic pot still spice.
Tasting Notes: This is how Jameson Single Pot Still tastes
- Nose: spicy aromas of grated nutmeg and caneel, followed by toasted oak, tropical fruits and caramel
- Palate: mouth-filling with full notes of fresh orange peel, some lemon and sliced ginger, with dark chocolate, caneel again and the spicy oak wood
- Finish: long in the spicy finish - oak, spicy toffee, ginger and fruits are present
