Portrait: What makes the Papalin 6 year old.
The Italian importer Velier is known in the rum scene as a pioneer for authentic experiences. The company, led by industry great Luca Gargano, was also a “first mover” when it came to Clairin:The Italians were the first to bottle the locally produced rum from Haiti. Traditionally, sugar cane spirits are not allowed aging. In typical Velier style, they have already successfully experimented with maturation in the Vieux Sajous series. Now the series is growing. Papalin is a project personally managed by Luca Gargano /strong>, which is dedicated exclusively to rum blends. The “Vatted Rums” (blends from various pot stills) mature completely in the warehouses of Caribbean distilleries. In the case of the Papalin 6 years: in the Distillerie de Port au Prince.
The Pure Single Rum combines three rums from Haiti distilled in the pot still. These were stored in a total of seven barrels pre-filled with sherry in the tropical climate of the Caribbean country.
