Smoketrails is the new range of different bottlings for the travel retail market.
The Manzanilla Edition is the first bottling in this Series.
Malt Whiskies from American White Oak Casks and Casks in which Manzanilla Sherry had previously matured were selected and blended together.
The result is a heavily peated Single Malt Whisky with a clear sherry barrel influence.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Ardbeg Smoketrails Manzanilla Edition tastes
- Nose: intense aromas of tree resin, fresh tar and moist peat - behind it, sea air with seaweed and damp linen cloth - in the background some chocolate
- Palate: surprisingly dry with clear notes of fatty soot and roasted nuts, slightly salty chocolate and hints of saddle fat
- Finish: very long in the lush finish with spicy tones of pine nuts, fennel and anise seeds - behind it old leather and carbolic soap
