The Speyburn distillery was founded in 1897 in a deep valley between the towns of Elgin and Rothes in Speyside, Scotland.
The location and the Victorian Construction with the typical pagoda roof makes this Speyside distillery one of the most beautiful and attractive in the country.
The Speyburn 18 Year Old matured in former American Bourbon- and former Spanish Sherry Casks.
The result is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky that delivers everything you expect from it - strong notes of tropical fruits, fudge and caramel through to dark chocolate and spicy oak.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Speyburn 18 year old tastes
- Nose: strong aromas of fresh cream and cream sweets, behind it becoming fruitier with papaya and mango - above all the scent of roasted almonds
- Palate: soft, almost creamy with clear notes of fudge and brown cane sugar, plus dark chocolate and the fruits again
- Finish: long and soft in the harmonious finish - the chocolate and the fruits are present, and a magnificent spiciness of fresh oak develops
