Portrait: What defines the Plantation Barbados 8 year old Port Cask Finish

Distilled by West Indies Rum Distillery in the pot and column still from molasses, the Plantation Barbados 8 year old Port Cask Finish first matured for five years in Barbados in former classic American Bourbon Casks, then Ferrand left the Rum  ripen in France for one year in former Ferrand Cognac Casks and for another two years in former Port Wine Casks from the Alto Douro region in Portugal .

Port Wine is a mostly red sweet Wine from the Alto Douro region in Portugal.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Plantation Barbados 8 year Old Port Cask Finish tastes like

  • Nose: the aromas are reminiscent of a cherry brandy, fruity-fresh with a slight sweetness, plus subtle roasted aromas
  • Palate: a balanced fruit-acid interplay with notes of cherry chewy sweets and a slight bitter almond sweetness
