The distillery Bowmore on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay announced at the end of 2019 that they had a cooperation with known to the English luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin.
The first joint project was a 1964 Black Bowmore DB5 - this was followed by another three bottlings for the travel retail market.
Presented after the first Aston Martin Masters' Selection in 2021 Bowmore now has the next big thing!
Bowmore's Master Blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin's Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman looked at the “Golden Ratio”.
The The golden ratio deals with the ratio of proportions; artists and designers use this ratio, often found in nature, for their work.
Marek Reichman explains: "Every design detail of an Aston Martin is defined by its proportions. Our goal is always the optimum - the golden ratio. It is this force that guides us in the creation of absolute beauty, and about that To achieve this, we have to combine our skills, our passion and our experience. Meeting Ron opens up new perspectives, it is very inspiring and enriching. This wonderfully balanced Whisky is a perfect expression of our harmonious collaboration."

Master blender Ron Welsh used this golden ratio when blending this 22-year-old single malt.
The Bowmore 22-year-old Aston Martin Masters' Selection is a marriage from Bowmore Single malts from 1997 and 2022, which matured in hogsheads made of American oak and Spanish exSherry butts.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Bowmore 22 year old Aston Martin Masters' Selection - Edition 2023 - Release No. 3 tastes like.
- Nose: initially sweet aromas of mild honey and ripe vanilla, then strong aromas of ripe fruit, spicy oak, some licorice and anise follow - tobacco in the background and some eucalyptus
- Palate: mouth-filling and rich in taste with malty and spicy notes, behind which again the spicy hints paired with toffee, nuts, dates and brown cane sugar
- Finish: long and soft in the finish with slightly sweet tones of ripe fruit and licorice, plus spicy oak and a hint of peat smoke
