Portrait: What makes the Mortlach 9 Year old 2014/2023 Very Cloudy Un-Chillfiltered Signatory

In 1988, Andrew Symington founded the Signatory Vintage Scotch Whisky Company Ltd. and since then has been bottling exclusive Casks from a wide range of Scottish distilleries from Pitlochry in the Highlands. His limited enjoyment experiences from single or a few barrels come onto the market in series - such as the Un-Chillfiltered Collection. Their Very Cloudy Whiskies are naturally cloudy. The reason: Despite only 40% vol. The single malts are not chill-filtered. This way they retain their full aroma. And at the same time they are real eye-catchers.
The reason for this is the oils and fats contained in the whisky, which are filtered out during cold filtration, but these flavor carriers are fully contained here.

In October 2023, Signatory will follow up with a new edition of a popular classic from Speyside: The Mortlach 9 Year old 2014/2023 Very Cloudy, distilled in a complex manner in differently shaped pot stills, matured for 9 years in three former Bourbon hogsheads.
