Portrait: What makes the Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition special.

The Redbreast whiskeys are the venerable representatives of the traditional Single Pot Still whiskeysthat are distilled in the Midleton Distillery in Cork/Ireland.

The bottling from the Redbreast Iberian Series Limited Edition combines the Irish whiskey tradition with the fruity taste of a port wine.

The Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition first matures for 8-10 years in former bourbon casks and then receives a finish of several months in former Portuguese tawny port wine hogsheads to absorb the strong port wine taste.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition tastes

  • Nose: sweet, warm aromas of fresh butter cake, caramelized almonds and dried fruits
  • Palate: the creamy texture spreads a taste of nuts, chocolate, salted caramel and fresh plums in the mouth - followed by light tannins from the port wine barrels
  • Finish: full-bodied and long with fruity and spicy hints
