Portrait: What makes the Plantation Trinidad 2016 Mezcal Cask Finish.

Distilled in 2016 at Trinidad Distillers in the column still from molasses, the Plantation Trinidad 2016 Mezcal Cask Finish initially matured for five years in Trinidad in former classic American bourbon Casks, then Ferrand left the Rum in France for a year in former Ferrand Cognac Casks and in former Mezcal Casks for another year.

Mezcal is distilled from agave in Mexico. The most well-known type of mezcal is tequila. 

Tasting Notes: This is what the Plantation Trinidad 2016 Mezcal Cask Finish tastes like

  • Nose: a mix of fresh tropical fruits and dried fruits, plus ripe citrus fruits and some smoke
  • Palate: the flavors are initially reflected in the taste, especially the tropical fruits and the dried fruits, and then afterwards an exposed fruit sweetness with herbal hints
