Portrait: What makes the Plantation Barbados 2014 French Muscat Cask Finish.

Distilled in 2014 at the West Indies Rum Distillery in pot and column stills from molasses, the Plantation Barbados matured 2014 French Muscat Cask Finish initially for six years in Barbados in former classic American Bourbon Casks, then Ferrand left the Rum in France for two years ripen in former Ferrand Cognac Casks and another year in French Muscat Wine Casks.

The Muscat vine is a very high-quality vine that exists worldwide and is very old. Wines made from Muscat grapes are characterized by sweetness and spice.

Tasting Notes: This is what the Plantation Barbados 2014 French Muscat Cask Finish tastes like

  • Nose: intense aromas of balsamic, wood and muscatel - spicy-fruity with a honey-like sweetness
  • Palate: full in taste with a strong malty sweetness, the fruit fades into the background , pleasantly slightly perfumey tone from Muscateller
