Portrait: What makes the Edradour 12 year old Barbaresco Casks special.

Whisky in its most original form - that made Edradour a legend among Scotch fans years ago. As one of the few distilleries in Scotland, until 2018 it produced its single malt exclusively in the old farm buildings, sometimes using equipment that was more than 100 years old. And these are rarely used in whisky making anymore. The latter has not changed even after the completed expansion to include Edradour II.

The Highland distillery is now consolidating its favorite status with six new Edradour and Ballechin bottlings in September 2023 - all from liqueur wine and wine barrels.

For the entire maturation period of the Edradour 12 Years Barbaresco Cask, rare hogsheads were grown, pre-filled with the origin-protected red wine from the Italian Piedmont.
