What makes the Scallywag The Winter Edition 2023 special?
The Scallywag The Winter Edition 2023 is the fourth version of the Scallywag Winter Edition. The popular blended malt Scallywag is part of the Remarkable Regional Malts series. The renowned Scottish independent bottler Douglas Laing presents the respective Scottish whisky regions with its Remarkable Regional Malts. Scallywag represents the Speyside region with its fruity character and preference for sherry casks.
The Limited Edition Scallywag The Winter Edition 2023 was matured exclusively in former Spanish Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. From these he has drawn Christmas spices and dark fruit and chocolate notes. The malt was bottled in a tight cask strength of 52.5% vol. The result of the cask strength bottling is a sweet, fruity malt whisky with warming, nutty aromas. A perfect dram for the cold season!
Scallywag's fourth Winter Edition of the annual winter series is a remarkably rich marriage of Speyside single malts. The nose shows warm gingerbread, spiced oak and orange peel. This is followed by layers of cocoa and juicy berries with a nutty malt note on the palate. At the end, Scallywag fans can look forward to dates with forest fruits and winter spices. This warming winter dram was made with a natural cask strength of 52.5% vol. and bottled without dyes or cold filtration.
The exquisite, mother-of-pearl gift packaging features the lively Fox Terrier who has traveled north to admire the impressive Northern Lights.
