In turbulent times, people like to reflect on what is permanent.  

And what is more everlasting than the sky above our heads, whether blue or gray? Two new small-batch series are now looking heavenward. 

The Horsemen, the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and the Archangels, the archangel quartet, deliver their prophecy with powerful imagery: cask-sized delights.  

For this, the bottlings fall back on Signatory Vintage's almost biblical wood treasure.

The Aberlour 11 year old 2012 /2023 Archangel No. 2 matured in two first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. As Archangel No.2, Archangel Uriel provides flavorful moments of light against the background of naturally dark whiskey color - and at the same time builds a bridge into the past of the popular Speyside distillery, which was almost completely destroyed by a fire in 1898.

It doesn't taste fiery like the Horseman, but lushly fruity, nutty and spicy.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Aberlour 11 year old 2012/2023 Archangel No. 2 tastes like.

• Nose: strong aromas of dark berries and fruits, clearly the influence of Oloroso Sherry - plus spicy aromas and roasted nuts
• Palate: soft and velvety with clear notes of ripe plums, dates and figs - again spicy hints of cinnamon and cardamom - the nuts again above all
• Finish: medium-long Departure - the sherry and the fruit carry the finish - the spicy tones recede somewhat
