Making whisky in its most original form - that's what made Edradour a legend among Scotch fans years ago. Even after the Edradour II expansion, which was completed in 2018, the distillery works in part with equipment that has more than 100 years on the clock. And which are rarely used in whiskey production any more.
 
The Highland distillery is consolidating its favorite status with bottlings matured in liqueur and sweet wine casks, among other things. The Edradour 11 year old 1st-fill Sauternes Casks spent its entire eleven years in first-fill casks that were pre-filled with the French sweet wine Sauternes. The effect: fine sweetness and notes of citrus fruits.
