The Inchmoan 12 year old matures in refilled and newly burned-out former bourbon casks made from American oak.
The result is a strong, smoky and spicy Highland Single Malt.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Inchmoan 12 year old tastes like
- Nose: dry peat smoke with flavors of vanilla syrup and ground black pepper
- Palate: sweet with medicinal notes, then peat smoke and smoked ham, followed by notes of roasted coffee, cloves and star anise - above all green apples and ripe pears
- Finish: long finish - peat again, plus citrus fruits, ripe gooseberries and hops
