McQueen and the Violet Fog is an elegant gin from South American Brazil - more precisely, from the city of Jundiai northwest of Sao Paulo.
The recipe contains very exotic botanicals from the mountains around the city.
15 of the 21 botanicals will be used for 24 Macerated for hours in sugar cane alcohol, then the alcohol is distilled again in the pot still.
The missing 6 botanicals wait in the pot still in copper baskets to be used and release their aromas into the distillate during the distillation of the alcohol.
The botanicals:
- 15 botanicals macerated in sugar cane alcohol: juniper berries, coriander, lemongrass, orris root, guava, angelica root, orange peel, jasmine, Lime peel, cucumber, rose petals, grapefruit peel, ginger, cinnamon bark and nutmeg
- 6 botanicals in copper baskets: basil, rosemary, fennel seed, calamansi (a citrus fruit), star anise and acai berries (the fruit of the cabbage palm)
