The 6th edition of the Scallywag Chocolate Edition. The limited edition matured 100% in former sherry casks.

The Scallywag brand, a small batch bottling within the Remarkable Regional Malts, saw this in 2013 Light of the world and has always consisted of the finest single casks single malts from the Scottish Speyside. 
 
The latest offshoot of the Scallywag Chocolate series unites the chocolatiest Pedro Ximénez - and Oloroso sherry casks to delicious notes of creamy dark chocolate, juicy red berries and buttery caramel. The whiskey was with 48%vol. bottled and is neither colored nor chill-filtered.

The bottling owes its luxurious exterior complete with hand-drawn illustrations and bronze foil to Clair Coetzee, the creative director of Douglas Laing.

Scott Morrison, brand manager, commented on the new bottling how follows: "This particular bottling makes for a lot of fun each year as we strive for the perfect chocolaty whisky. It's great to see how the series has grown in popularity and demand over the years and by 300 bottles a year 2018, for what is now our sixth annual release, has grown to 4,200 bottles. With its phenomenal hand-drawn design combined with the extraordinarily tasty contents, this bottling is very special and we can't wait for people to enjoy it!"

Scallywag Chocolate Edition #6 is strictly limited to just 4,200 bottles worldwide.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Scallywag The Chocolate Edition 2023 tastes

• Nose: velvety soft with aromas of chocolate mousse, honey and sweet spices
• Palate: dark chocolate and buttery caramel with fruity berries - a wonderful chocolaty symphony
• Finish: long and sweet finish, with a hint of creamy pralines and a little vanilla
