Portrait: what makes the bimber The 1st Peated.
Regional single -Farm barley. Barley malt from the traditional malting floor. Washbacks from our own cooperage. Bimber's manufacturing process reads like the ideal of a whisky distillery. Although based in London, the craft distillery is not influenced by the fast pace of life in the metropolis. With attention to detail, 7-day fermentation and two directly fired pot stills, this here sought-after English whisky is made.
With Bimber The 1st Peated the distillery enters completely new territory. Not only is it the first fully peated Bimber single malt, but also the first modern English whisky made from peated barley entirely processed on site by the distillery.
For this, Bimber brought peat from Aberdeenshire to London and kids the barley malt himself in a custom-made drying oven. The result is a bright, fruity and structured London single malt that is infused with intense aromas of blazing campfires and moist, fragrant peat smoke.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Bimber The 1st Peated tastes like
- Nose: clearly the scent of campfire smoke, plus burning peat and some vanilla and old leather
- Palate: full-bodied and complex with a surprisingly intense peat note, light fruits and roasted nuts join the light vanilla note
- Finish: long and full in the finish - the peat smoke stays for a long time
