After 180 years in the whisky queue Glencadam made the step from the blending industry to the stage of the original bottlers. But on rather quiet soles. Their "East Highlands" single malt made from unpeated barley malt is still an insider tip. The up to 35-year-old, neither colored nor chill-filtered whiskies are produced in two copper pot stills, just like when the small distillery was founded. When aging their distillate, the Glencadam Distillery always surprises. For the new limited release, for example, the Glencadam 15 Year old Limited Edition 2007 - Reserva de Jerez, the Highlanders built their single malt matured in bourbon casks in Andalusian sherry casks. Previously, these contained sherry of the Oloroso type. Its nutty, dark fruity aroma gives the whiskey depth and complexity - with inviting notes such as roasted nuts, milk chocolate or apple strudel.
