Portrait: What makes Vermouth Routin Original Rouge special.

Vermouth Routin Rouge is made with a mixture of 24 herbs and Spices, which are macerated for several weeks in Jacquère wine, a grape variety from the Savoy region. 
Fresh Sauvignon Blanc is then added and the blend is aged in oak wine barrels for six months. 
To the desired To achieve balance, the aged vermouth is married in equal parts with unaged vermouth. 

Key botanicals: Wormwood, coriander, clove, lavender, bourbon vanilla beans

Tasting Notes: This is how Vermouth Routin Original Rouge tastes

  • Nose: initially light and floral, then darker notes of Demerara sugar and toffee
  • Palate: Quinine with baking spices, plus dried figs and bourbon vanilla in the background
  • Finish: the sweetness turns into a spicy, zesty bitterness with coriander seeds and wormwood
