Delicious artisan spirits are produced with great passion at the Château de Bonbonnet. This also applies to the Citadelle Gin, which has been known all over the world since 1996. The best raw materials, such as wild juniper and 18 selected, hand-picked exotic herbs (these are stored in alcohol in oversized nets for 5 to 7 days) offer him excellent conditions for this.
In order to be able to maintain the usual high quality and as much control as possible To have the individual ingredients for the gin, Maison Ferrand has owned its own juniper trees since 2017.These were planted directly on the grounds of the Château de Bonbonnet and the first berries were harvested in 2018. In addition, Maison Ferrand some time ago acquired a hill area with very old juniper trees.

After distillation, the Citadelle No Mistake Old Tom is stored in selected wooden barrels for about six months.
The special thing about it is the ingredient "Aged Sugar”, a Caribbean brown sugar that was roasted in copper stills and lightly caramelized, then aged for three to four months in cognac casks along with a small proportion of gin.
This is joined by botanicals such as juniper berries, génépi, almonds, grains of paradise, Iris, cardamom, lemon, cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, cubeb, orange, star anise, violet, yuzu, fennel, cumin, cornflower, spice bark, angelica, liquorice and savory.

• Nose: fresh and powerful - at the beginning aromas of juniper, orange peel and cardamom, followed by floral aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle, as well as fennel and cumin and slightly sweet hints of coffee and vanilla
• Palate: full-bodied and elegant with bittersweet notes of candied lemon peel, black herb, aniseed and almonds - behind it are spicy tones of nutmeg, cinnamon and cubeb pepper
• Finish: very long finish - floral, spicy and woody at the same time - clear hints of coriander, violets, angelica, cumin, grains of paradise and liquorice
