Portrait: What makes the Wolfburn 10 year old.

Since January 25th, in the young Wolfburn distillery single malt whisky.
Highly qualified staff and the most modern distilling technology have since ensured that only the best possible New Make Spirit flows from the stills. Wolfburn whisky is made the traditional way - by hand, without haste and with the utmost attention to quality. The mild, soft and fruity character of the single malt is due to the type of production - long fermentation and gentle, slow distillation.

Maturation takes place exclusively on site in so-called dunnage -Warehouses (horizontal storage of the barrels and open ground for high humidity) a few 100 meters from the coast.

As consistent as Wolfburn's guiding motto "Quality over quantity" alive, so consistently, 10 years later, the first 10-year-old Wolfburn Single Malt is being presented. A moment that Thurso has been working towards from the very beginning.

Initially limited,  the Wolfburn should become part of the Wolfburn Range as soon as possible for 10 years. Wolfburn 10 Year old matures continuously in exSherry Butts, so in addition to the intense fruitiness after 10 years of aging in Spanish oak, it has a lush sherry cask influence.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Wolfburn 10 Year old tastes

• Nose: gentle sherry sweetness mixes with notes of figs and raisins. Hints of vanilla and sweet oak
• Palate: of enormous depth and variety with luscious aromas of chocolate and dark fruit accompanied by caramel and vanilla. Plus hints of nutmeg and spicy oak
• Finish: silky tannins create a mouth-filling finish with a lovely sweetness and notes of dried fruit and caramel that linger to the end
