Portrait: What makes the Waterford - Cuvée Argot so special.

Waterford's cuvée concept is unique in the single malt industry: by harvesting, distilling and aging Irish barley from farm to farm, Waterford captures the grain's inherent terroir flavor profile.

The single farm origin whiskeys from the progressive distillery form an unprecedented repertoire of aromas.  

Like building blocks, head distiller Ned Gahan puts these already unique whiskeys together layer by layer - and creates a highly complex whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

With Argot (pronounced "ar-go"), Waterford is now presenting a cuvée to get to know the distillery concept: cheaper, with a nice drinking strength of 47% vol. and slightly less wood contact for a flavor profile characterized by freshness, vibrancy and accessibility.

Argot will be permanently available worldwide.  

The "little brother" of the Waterford The Cuvée combines 14 single farm origin whiskeys and matured for around three years in the barrel types characteristic of Waterford.  

With a total of 44 percent, premium casks prefilled with strong, sweet and red wine account for the largest share.  

The captivating character of the single malt is also characterized by a touch of Irish peat.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Waterford - Cuvée Argot tastes

• Nose: Aromas of ripe fruit, with freshly baked bread and fresh herbs - above all light peat smoke
• Palate: mouth-filling and soft in taste - again the fruit and fresh pastries - some vanilla and dried fruit - some peat smoke in the background
• Finish: Medium finish with an elegant balance of fruit and spice
