Portrait: What makes Dunville's Three Crowns Peated special.

After more than 80 years, the Brand Dunville & Co. made their comeback in 2016.
After more than 125 years, Echlinville is the first new distillery in Northern Ireland - Echlinville received its license to distill in May 2013
Shane Braniff is the owner, he owns the land surrounding the distillery, on which the barley for the whiskey is grown and harvested on their own responsibility.

This results from the fact that Dunville stores the whiskey in barrels that previously contained heavily peated whiskeys.

Tasting Notes: This is how Dunville's Three Crowns Peated tastes

  • Nose: Roasted coffee beans at the beginning, plus toffee and ripe light fruits - above all a subtle peat smoke
  • Palate: soft and intensely fruity, especially peach and apricots, plus blackberries and black currants - followed by mild honey and salty caramel
  • Finish: soft and mild in the long-lasting finish, the fruits are present - behind them again de r peat smoke
