Portrait: What makes the Ben Nevis 8 Year Old 2014/2022 Oloroso Sherry Butts Vintage Signatory special.

The Scottish Highland distillery Ben Nevis is located at the foot of the highest mountain in Scotland of the same name .
The strong, spicy single malts have now become a rarity, bottlings from Ben Nevis are only rarely found.
Signatory chose second-bottling exOloroso sherry butts for this bottling.
Distilled in December 2014, bottled in December 2022.
As always with Signatory, bottled without the addition of colourings!

Vintage whiskys from a g ed distillery, single malts from rare single casks - Signatory Vintage tracks down exclusive Scotch whiskys for its bottlings. 
More than 10,000 hogsheads, butts and co. are stored in the halls of the independent bottler. Signatory releases bottlings from this wood treasure in different series. The copper-colored tubes are synonymous with (beginner) whiskys with a pleasant drinking strength of 43% vol. 
At the beginning of 2023 Signatory discontinued the series.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Ben Nevis 8 Years 2014/2022 Oloroso Sherry Butts Vintage Signatory tastes

  • Nose: clearly vanilla and nutmeg, too a slight smoky note
  • Palate: now spicy notes with lots of herbs, plus vanilla again - overlaid with soft smoke
  • Finish: light and spicy finish
