Portrait: What makes the Aberlour 18 year old - Double Sherry Cask Finish.

Aberlour 18- year-old single malt Whisky is a truly exceptional drop.

The single malt first matures in classic ex-bourbon casks, then Aberlour carries out an additional double cask maturation for significantly more complexity.

It is then matured the Aberlour is aged 18 years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks - the result is a complex taste with lingering sweetness.

The Aberlour is aged 18 years for the second maturation first-fill exOloroso sherry casks, known for their succulent raisin and liquorice aromas, and exPedro Ximénez sherry casks, which imbued the single malt with an intense, syrupy sweetness.

The result is a complex single malt whisky with a lingering sweetness that is rich and fruity on the palate, with notes of apricot, chocolate-covered raisins, licorice root and grated nutmeg.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Aberlour 18 Years - Double Sherry Cask Finish tastes

  • Nose: intense aromas of juicy raisins and spicy liquorice at the beginning, followed by the Pedro Ximénez sherry
  • Palate: mouth-filling and rich in taste - distinctly fruity notes of ripe apricots and raisins covered in chocolate - some grated nutmeg behind it
  • Finish: long and intense in the full-bodied finish with a syrupy sweetness
