The Don Papa Quincentennial celebrates the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the earth, an adventurous voyage that saw the Spaniards first land in what is now the Philippines.
500 years ago, the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan was killed by Emperor Charles V (King Carlos I in Spain ) commissioned to embark on an expedition in search of the Spice Islands.
Sending him on an odyssey to the other side of the world that would forever change the course of history and maritime navigation.
The intense, full-bodied Don Papa Quincentennial from the island of Negros, which was stored in unique climatic conditions on the foothills of the Kanlaon volcano, shows itself from the even more complex side.
First, the Don Papa Quincentennial matures for two years in ex-bourbon casks. The Don Papa Quincentennial is then transferred to casks previously filled with rich, red Ruby Port to mature for a further five years.
The result is a dark rum with a spicy character and warm temperament, with long-lasting fruit notes revealed and thus brings the royal port wine barrels to their best advantage.
There are only 500 bottles of this edition worldwide. Each bottle is numbered.
