Product information "Kopke White Port"
Kopke is the oldest port wine house - every wine in this house tells a story.
The grapes for Kopkes Colheitas are harvested and destemmed by hand at the optimum time, then pressed and processed.
The wine is carefully macerated to extract the colour, tannins and aromas, which are enhanced by constant stirring during fermentation - this is done in barrels (lagares) at a controlled temperature between 28-30 degrees Celsius until the desired level of sweetness (baumé) is reached is.
At this point pomace brandy is then added to make the final fortified wine.

The result is a high quality wine made from a single harvest.
A Colheita wine ages in oak barrels, never less than seven years.
The port wine is then bottled.

The Kopke White Port has an appealing gold color.

Nose: elegant and complex, with aromas of spices, predominant aromas of dried fruits and elegant aromas of wood
Palate: Soft and round on the palate, it shows complexity amid intense notes of dried fruit

Served chilled, it is an elegant aperitif.
Wonderful with rich starters such as foie gras, vol-au-vent, scallop gratin or mushroom risotto.
Ideal with a crème brûlée, a crispy crepe with vanilla sauce or a spicy apple crumble.
Goes perfectly with blue cheese, like Stilton. Just as delicious pure.
Best served at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius.

Irresistible with a starter of foie gras with eggplant and walnuts.
A great choice for an endless array of desserts like toffee brownies, chocolate pistachio pavé or walnut crostini with chèvre.
Best served at a temperature between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius.
