Daftmills Oldest: 15 Years Single Farm Estate Whisky

Extremely little single malt with extremely high demand - the Single Farm Estate Whisky from Daftmill in a nutshell.

At Daftmill Farm in the Scottish Lowlands, everything revolves around cows, potatoes, carrots and growing malting barley.

Since 2006, however, the Cuthbert family has also been processing their own barley into single malt.

This is distilled in very small quantities, sometimes no more than 100 barrels a year.

And only in the low season (June and July as well as in winter), when there is no need to plant potatoes or sow barley.

Now the farm distillery has bottled its oldest single malt to date.

The Daftmill 15 Year Old 2006/2022 is one of the first whiskies that the Cuthberts distilled.

Francis Cuthbert harvested the Chariot barley for Lowland Whisky on August 31, 2004 from the fields on his farm.

It was one of the last batches that were processed in the traditional local malthouse before Robert Kilgour & Co. closed.

28 first-fill Bourbon Barrels were finally bottled for the Daftmill 15 years 2006/2022 - at cask strength.
