This intensely sweet and nutty small-batch release is the first Glenmorangie single malt ever matured in the rare Palo Cortado Sherry casks.
With a aging period of 12 years, the Glenmorangie 12 years Palo Cortado the delicate style of the Highland Distillery that certain extra.
For the first eight years, the single malt matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American white oak.
Then, enthralled by the soft, smooth character of the whisky, Dr. Inspired by Bill Lumsden to age a select batch in ex Palo Cortado casks never previously used at Glenmorangie.
Nose: intense sweet and nutty aromas, with dark ripe plums
Palate: sweet fruits - again the plums and nuts, along with sweet, spicy notes and sherry
Finish: long and fruity-sweet in the finish
