Portrait: What makes the Arran Cask Finish Amarone special

The young Arran distillery on the The island of the same name on Scotland's west coast knows how to elegantly refine its single malt - matured in selected barrels of the red wine Amarone from Italy.
The fruity character of the Arran harmonizes very nicely with the complex notes of the Amarone wine.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Arran Cask Finish Amarone tastes like

  • Nose: Pear and honey, followed by roasted almonds and cranberry 
  • Palate: Dark chocolate, cherries and Turkish honey - behind it there are slightly spicy notes of ground cinnamon
  • Finish: soft and harmonious in the finish - cherries and chocolate are present again - there is a slightly spicy note above everything
