Portrait: What makes the Glenfiddich Experimental Series #05 Orchard Experiment special

Established in In 1886, the world-famous distillery from Speyside in Scotland is still owned by the Grant family today - now in its fifth generation.
In the Valley of the Stag (Gaelic: Glenfiddich) the first distillate flowed from the still at Christmas 1887.

Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment is a ScotchWhisky, which swims against the current. 

The fifth bottling of the Experimental Series complements the series with a summer-fruity single malt in which the depth and intensity of the whiskey with the delicate sweetness of Somerset apples.
Pre-selected Glenfiddich whiskeys were in barrels from the family business "The Somerset Cider Brandy Co." for approximately four months. after ripened, which previously contained sweet Pomona. Somerset Pomona is an apple liqueur.

The secret mixture of the freshly squeezed juice of the finest apples and Somerset Cider brandy matures for two years in oak barrels.
Glenfiddich uses these same barrels to refine Orchard Expermient.

• Nose: the classic fruity Glenfiddich aromas, reminiscent of pear, peach and mirabelle plum, are highlighted and accentuated by the subsequent maturation in Pomona Casks
• Palate: ripe orchard fruits are present sweet, creamy toffee, caramelized apple and wood spice over
• Finish: long-lasting sweetness
