Ardbeg Ardcore 46%vol. 0,7l
Product information "Ardbeg Ardcore 46%vol. 0,7l"
Founded in 1815, Ardbeg is revered by connoisseurs the world over as the peatiest, smokiest and most complex of all Islay whiskies.
Despite its smokiness, Ardbeg is known for its delicious sweetness, a phenomenon affectionately known as "the peaty paradox".
In the 1980s and 1990s Ardbeg suffered from an uncertain future and it was only when the brand was bought by The Glenmorangie Company in 1997 that the distillery was saved from collapse.
Since then, the distillery has risen like a phoenix from the ashes, and today Ardbeg has established itself as a cult malt with a passionate following.
Ardbeg is launching the new Limited Edition ARDCORE on Ardbeg Day - a Single Malt Whisky with a punk rock attitude.
Because Ardcore rebels against all whisky rules and is based - as the first Ardbeg ever - on deep black roasted barley malt.
This rebellious, anti-conformist attitude defines the spirit of this year's Ardbeg Day, Ardbeg celebrates punk!
Ardcore is extremely unconventional, distinctive and very rich.
A drop that wears its heart on its sleeve - its black heart, with notes of charcoal, sweet smoke, anise and dark chocolate.
Ardcore is a dram that tastes like "biting a spikey ball" (Dr. Bill Lumsden), one that wears its heart on its sleeve... its black heart!
Notes of charcoal and sweet smoke hit the nose, along with the powerful aromas of aniseed and dark chocolate.
Nose: A stunningly spicy and fiery taste ignites with more luscious and smoky aromas - cocoa powder, dark chocolate, peanut toffee, smoked lime and hints of soot and campfire embers in unison, aniseed and malt biscuits invade the
foreground and rivet through all taste buds
Taste: the tangy and spicy Ardcore captivates the senses with notes of marmite (the English spice paste!), charred toast, black chicory coffee and coffee grounds - a veritable moshpit in the glass, the typical Ardbeg herbal notes are present like a safety pin in the nose,
while smoky notes of blazing campfire and molasses buzz in the background
Finish: Overall a sweet finish - lingering notes of toffee, soot and smoke provide an anarchic, exquisite aftertaste
