Portrait: What defines the Jamaica 5 year old 2016/2022 Transcontinental Rum Line #55
What unites the rum world? Your diversity. With the Transcontinental Rum Line, La Maison & Velier reflects the great diversity of sugar cane spirits. Selected overseas rums are initially stored in oak barrels in their country of origin - at tropical temperatures for rapid, intensive maturation and strong aromas. After being shipped to the French bottler, some of the rums continue to mature for up to two years in a continental climate. This gives them additional complexity. All rums in the line are bottled without additives and not chill filtered. Distilled in 2016 from fermented molasses in double retort pot stills, the Jamaica 5 comes from Years 2016/2022 Transcontinental Rum Line #55 from the Lluidas Valley on the island. Here the Pure Single Rum matured for 4 years under tropical conditions, complemented by a year of continental maturation.
