First matured in ex-bourbon barrels, this single malt whiskey receives a second maturation in ex-stout beer casks.
The Twisted Stout has the typical, unmistakable Smokehead peat flavor but this delicious and different whiskey is even smoother, sweeter and silkier.
The creamy, malty stout flavor combines with the intense smoke you've come to expect from Smokehead, adding unfamiliar notes of rich chocolate and syrup toffee, vanilla ice cream, toasted nuts and toasted biscuits.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Smokehead Twisted Stout tastes
- Nose: Smokehead's usual "island intensity" is complemented by sweet aromas of chocolate and syrup - Toffee wrapped - maritime air meets a decent pint of stout on the shore - unexpected and unusual - and unsettling for the senses...
- Palate: warm and harmonious at the same time - salty smoke curls around dry roasted nuts, roasted marshmallows, vanilla ice cream and freshly roasted coffee
