1770 Glasgow Peated Rich & Smoky

With the founding of the Glasgow Distillery Company in 2014, a whisky distillery moved back to the Scottish port after more than 100 years.
Glasgow was once home to hundreds of distilleries.

Today the Glasgow Distillery Company is one of the few urban distilleries in Scotland dedicated to the production of single malt whisky.
Independently, with five copper pot stills made in Germany and the finest Scottish barley.

With their Core Range, launched in 2018, the Glasgow Distillery founders Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall pay tribute to the history of their distillery.
"1770" is the name of the three accessible single malts in different styles - after the founding year of the whiskey distillery, once called Dundashill, one of the largest manufacturers of malt whisky at the time with an extraordinary production volume of 360,000 gallons (approx. 1.6 million liters) per year.

The Glasgow Distillery Company has not yet reached the volume of its ancestors.
However, the single malts from the "Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year 2020" have already attracted a global following.

Now the distillery is delighting connoisseurs around the world with great news: the 1770 Core Range is now available in 0.7 liter bottles!

In addition, the new bottle is environmentally friendly.
Despite the new size and thick base, relatively less glass is used for the glass body with individual embossing than in the original 0.5 liter bottle.
There was also an update for the closure - now made from recycled material - and the fully recyclable gift packaging.

The multi-gold award-winning content has remained the same.
Dark fruit, vanilla - and smoke: With Glasgow 1770 Peated - Rich & Smoky, the Glasgow Distillery has expanded its core range with a peated single malt that is very unusual for the Lowlands.
Distilled from Highland peat malt, matured in virgin oak casks and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, the whiskey boasts a flavor profile as intense as its natural amber colour.

Nose: Sweet smoke and intense toffee with notes of vibrant vanilla, dried dark fruit and the crisp spiciness of black pepper - with subtle hints of flamed orange
Palate: Tobacco, dark toffee and cocoa nibs against a background of sweet, smooth peat and smooth earthy undertones with subtle herbal notes of sage
Finish: Long and smooth with notes of salted caramel and liquorice and lingering spice
