Located in the Scottish Lowlands near Fife, Lindores Abbey Distillery is the place with the first written record of whisky production in Scotland dating back to 1494.
Brother John Cor, a monk of Lindores Abbey, was commissioned to make 'aqua vitae' (the water of life), as whisky was then called, from barley for King James IV.
Since 2017, the Lindores Abbey Distillery has been producing spirit with its pot stills at this location.
The first bottling from the series "The Exclusive Cask"
The former Oloroso sherry cask #18/0581 was filled on August 2nd, 2018, the single malt whisky matured in the cask for over three and a half years, then it was bottled on February 7th, 2022 to just 680 bottles at cask strength.
Nose: Sweet and fruity with clear aromas of dried dates, raisins and roasted chestnuts
Palate: sweet molasses and again the roasted chestnuts - over all light hints of chocolate
Finish: long finish with rich fruity tones - plus elegant toasted notes
